Eze Philip Ajomiwe, the Traditional Ruler of Oriendu Autonomous Group in Ohuhu Clan, Umuahia North Local government area of Abia state, has cried out over alleged invasion of his farmland by Fulani herders.
This was whilst he (Ajomiwe) referred to as on President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency, call the herders to order henceforth.
The Monarch, who spoke with reporters on Wednesday in Umuahia, the state capital, regretted that to date, he has lost huge hectre of farm land and hundreds of thousands of naira to the dreaded herdsmen.
On the suspended RUGA settlement by the federal authorities, Ajomiwe, warned that it shouldn’t be prolonged to the South East.
“If such occurs in South East zone, it would give them extra clout to perpetrate their depraved act. I’m questioning why the Federal authorities ought to ask for a land for such settlement after they know that there’s inadequacy of land in the South East”.
He additional hinted that he had since lodged a complain to the safety businesses within the State over the assault performed on his farmland, stressing that nothing had been performed ever since.
Ajomiwe, nevertheless, recommended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for not yielding to strain to supply land for such settlement within the State.
