No fewer than seven individuals on Sunday died in an accident involving a Peugeot 206 and a Golf three automobile alongside Maigatari street, in Maigatari Local Government Area of Jigawa State.
SP Abdu Jinjiri, the spokesman of the state Police Command, advised newsmen in Dutse on Monday, that the accident occurred on Sunday round 1:30pm.
In line with him, the incident occurred after the driving force of the Peugeot automobile coming from Kano misplaced management and crossed to the alternative lane, the place it had a head-on collision with an oncoming Golf three automobile.
The spokesman added that seven occupants of the autos died on the spot, whereas the 2 drivers and 9 others sustained varied levels of damage.
“Yesterday, at about 2 p.m., the police in Maigatari LGA acquired an info that at about 1:30 p.m., one Rabilu Ahmad aged 30 of Koki quarters in Dala LGA Kano state was driving a Peugeot 206 ash colour with Reg No. TRN 948 AE heading to Malammadori.
“On reaching Kwalande village in Maigatari LGA, he misplaced management and crossed to the alternative lane the place he had an head collision with an oncoming Golf three car inexperienced colour with Reg No. FW 94 ABJ pushed by one Mohammed Aminami aged 30 of Dapchi LGA in Yobe state.
“Because of this, seven occupants of the autos died on the spot whereas the 2 drivers and 9 others sustained accidents,” NAN quoted him as saying.
In line with him, upon receipt of the data, the police rushed to the scene and evacuated the corpses and the injured victims to Gumel Normal Hospital, in Gumel local government area of the state.
Jinjiri additional acknowledged that the injured victims are presently on admission and responding to therapy, as investigation was ongoing.
