No fewer than 17 cows and two sheep were killed by a thunderstorm in Iba, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State.
In accordance with an eyewitness, who spoke to Street2view on Saturday, the incident occurred on Friday at Gaa Eleesun, a community mostly populated by Fulani herdsmen.
It was further learnt that the thunderstorm, which struck round 6:00pm, also injured many people locally, causing critical apprehension.
Talking on the event, the chief of Gaa Eleesun group, Chief Jimoh Soliu lamented the lack of the animals.
Soliu mentioned: ” We had simply returned from pasturing when thunder began hanging. We ran into the houses leaving our cows outside. However to our shock, we discovered 17 cows and two sheep useless exterior.
“That is devastating for us as a result of since we have now been staying in this community, this strange incidence has never occurred.”
